NWBC Ministries Education Opportunities are available each Sunday and throughout the week to learn more about God and to study his holy word. Sunday School classes begin each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m., followed by Discipleship Training classes Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m. Prayer Meeting, children activities and youth activities are held Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. Special studies, retreats, and seminars are available at various times throughout the year as well. Our radio broadcast of our evening services aid in our study of God's word. Missions North Winona Baptist Church, a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, supports State, International, and North American missions financial, prayerfully, and personally. Several missions are aided by our church each year including the Baptist Children's Village, World Hunger, The Cooperative Program, Annie Armstrong, and Lottie Moon. Our church also embarks on mission trips planned during the year to spread the word of the Lord to others. Music Our focus as a church is to praise the Lord - one way we accomplish this is by lifting up our voices. North Winona offers choir programs for all ages: preschool & children, youth, adult, as well as senior adult choirs. Music is also an important part of our worship services, allowing everyone an opportunity to praise the Lord through song. Children are an important part of North Winona Baptist Church's ministries. Classes are available each Sunday Morning, Evening, and Wednesday Evening to allow every age child the opportunity to learn about God and his love for them. A nursery is also available during these times for families with children infant - 3 years. North Winona offers many activities for our children to participate in including: children's choir, missions, special trips throughout the year, vacation bible school during the summer, bible drill and Wednesday night "power hour". North Winona Baptist Church has an outstanding student ministry designed for those from grades 7 - 12. Opportunities are offered throughout the week to help teenagers learn about God and how they can live their lives for Him. Sunday School classes are offered each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday nights are "Youth Focus", a fun time of fellowship and study. Our youth are also involved with various activities throughout the year such as mission trips, retreats, fellowships with other youth groups, and Christian concerts. Senior Adults The senior adult ministry of North Winona is strong and active. With over 50 members, this group has a wonderful time of ministry and fellowship. The senior adult choir, known as the "Sonshiners" meets every Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m. for practice. Other activities these adults participate in include daytrips, second Saturday of the month covered luncheons, monthly meetings, Senior Adult Retreats and mission trips at various times in the year. All adults age 55 and older are eligible and encouraged to become a member of this active group serving the Lord. |
